Senior Associate, Interoperability Systems Analyst
Reports To: Director, Information Technology

Job Summary:

This position is responsible for the support, maintenance, and development updates of CurrentCare's applications and supporting reporting infrastructure. The Senior Associate plays a key role in researching, planning, and prioritizing integration enhancements for the CurrentCare platform to meet RIQI user community demands as well as support other RIQI development efforts that rely on system interoperability. The incumbent will work with Program and Product Managers, outsourced partners, and developers in implementation of HL7, CDA, and IHE integration programs.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Formulate and execute project plans in partnership with Program Management.
  • Utilize InterSystems Cach, Ensemble, and HealthShare technologies in support of Application development and refactoring, report development, and support of third party managed services.
  • Work in partnership with Program Management, IT Director, and Business System Analysts in establishing implementation timelines.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Serves as RIQI's software developer for application level support of CurrentCare.
  • Collaborates with IT Business Systems Analysts on enhancements and design of key features.
  • Collaborates with RIQI Program/Product Management on the RIQI Product Road Map.
  • Communicates status of projects to Director and team members.
  • Supports the RIQI Implementation teams by developing applications in Cach and Cach Objects.
  • Documents requirements and designs in a format appropriate for use as end user reference material.
  • Solves complex problems and develops innovative solutions.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned and special projects.

Minimum Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in healthcare IT, preferably in a BSA analyst roll with experience with EMR, EHR, and HIE interface experience.
  • Working knowledge with the HL7 2.x file format (ADT and clinical messages) and a thorough understanding of how interface development projects work.

Desired Qualifications

  • Demonstrated track record of managing technical and operations-based projects to completion.
  • Strong organizational skills such as time, project, and resource management: breaks tasks into manageable steps, notifies team of upcoming deadlines, anticipates potential delays effectively, and assures team players are notified to assure targets are met.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills. Strong analytical, writing, and presentation skills.
  • Strong conflict management and critical thinking skills.
  • Some web development experience (PHP, ASP, JSP, CSP, Zen, etc.) a plus.

Specialized Knowledge:

  • Experience with CCD and C-CDA documents strongly desired.
  • Working understanding in object-oriented programming concepts desirable.
  • Experience with file parsing (XML, XSLT, etc.) desirable.
  • Experience with Ensemble and Cach Object Script.
  • Familiarity with RESTful and SOAP web services.
  • Experience building and consuming web services a plus.

None

Work Environment:
This position will work in normal business office conditions.

Physical Demands:
The tasks of this position are typical for working in an office environment. An associate is regularly required to perform tasks while sitting at a desk, using normal hand dexterity. Mobility is required, including standing, moving about, and sitting. Occasional travel out of the office for meetings, etc. may be required. Must be able to maintain a good attendance record.
