Description:

Job Summary:

 

This position is responsible for overseeing the PMO to support RIQI's product lifecycle management and ensuring HIE projects and integration efforts meet organizational goals and requirements.  The PMO Manager also ensures that the operational issues of the PMO are managed, focusing on the project interface with project leaders, project teams, technology and interface issues. 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Develops and maintains overall project and implementation plan identifies and assures key deliverables, resource requirements, and timing for completion in compliance with contract requirements.
  • Assembles project team ensuring representation from all functional departments.
  • Directs the activities of program staff and contractors and is responsible for ensuring appropriate resources are allocated and maintained to facilitate the successful delivery of all required program components.
  • Provides and maintains metrics related to but not limited to processes, activities, resource management, and deliverables.
  • Creates and maintains required reporting to effectively communicate status, risk, and return to all stakeholders.
  • Implements, monitors, and provides comprehensive action plans given partner readiness to make informed decisions that maximize connectivity and exchange of data.
  • Manages demand by working closely with all constituents to prioritize implementations based on business needs, resource capacity, risk exposure, and interdependencies.
  • Continuously focuses on building strong business relationships and serves as a key strategic partner with ongoing connections.
  • Assign and supervise tasks and responsibilities among Associates.
  • Provide on-the-job role training and organize training and orientation of new staff members.
  • Evaluate and manage staff performance and recruitment.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Technology, Business, Health Care, or a related field.
  • Five years+ direct work experience in a project management capacity, including all aspects of process development and execution.
  • Working knowledge of Health Information Exchanges and Electronic Medical Record systems.
  • Established team leader.

Desired Qualifications

  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Project, Excel, and Visio experience.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills. Strong analytical, writing, and presentation skills.
  • Strong conflict management and critical thinking skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and has the ability to persuade, encourage, and motivate others.
  • Conforms to shifting priorities, demands, and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Health care experience or knowledge of health care business preferred (i.e. working with hospitals, ambulatory practices, long-term and post-acute care facilities, etc.)
  • Knowledge of PMI's Project Management Book of Knowledge (PMBOK).

Licenses or Specialized Knowledge:

PMP Certification required.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

 This position will manage several staff members dedicated to the HIE department.

Work Environment:

This position will work in normal business office conditions.

Physical Demands:

The tasks of this position are typical for working in an office environment.  An associate is regularly required to perform tasks while sitting at a desk, using normal hand dexterity.  Mobility is required, including standing, moving about, and sitting.  Occasional travel out of the office for meetings, etc. may be required.  Must be able to maintain a good attendance record.
